Here's Bug in all his gentlemanly glory. Seriously people, love this guy.

Non-Canon Scenario:
Rain pitter-pattered in the cemetery of Willow Hill Asylum, washing away all traces of the fight that had taken place there, footsteps and blood and all. She wasn’t supposed to be here. It was raining and the place was dangerous, yet she found herself sitting against Jack’s tombstone again.

She had lost that battle with Dannifer. She had tasted victory, taking a good bite out of him, she had tasted survival, swallowing warm blood, she had tasted defeat when the blood on her tongue began to burn and then she tasted nothing but pain.

She was supposed to have been carried off by the Nurses, carried off some place that lost patients go, but she had recovered. She was not a weak girl, not anymore. She didn’t want to go so she didn’t. She slammed her shadowy arm into the nearest nurse, knocking him out and she grabbed the other and slammed him against a tomb stone. Neither got up. It wasn’t because they were dead. It was because the strings that had pulled them to their duties were loosening.

And then the black around her arm failed her, fading away and she stumbled. She had used the last of her supply. Juon had then taken off back into the mist, and away from the fighting, She could retreat into her self pity, repeating and repeating in her mind that she was cold, that she was in pain and that she was hungry. For what she couldn’t be sure. No one would bother her there.

Yet someone had.

His shoes were muddy and he struggled to keep the jacket dry beneath the wreckage of an umbrella. It was black, old and cracked in several places but it was the best he could find. Bug hobbled over to where he had seen the smudge of pink in the rain.

“Miss” he began. “Miss, it’s not a good idea to rest in the rain”. Juon narrowed her eyes and drew up to her full height glaring at the invader. “Now look” Bug’s eyes zipped down her form then snapped back to her eyes, apologetic “now you’re all wet!”.

Juon drew her arms over her chest in a protective manner and her glare graduated to ultimate glare of doom. “Go away” she snapped. Leave me alone, she thought, leave me alone with my shame and my hunger and my failure and let me go to sleep…

He didn’t seem to hear her. He held out the jacket. “Here, I know it’s not your size but it will fit and it’s dry. You can’t stay in just those wet clothes”.

Juon bristled. She didn’t need help, especially not from a man. “Go away!” she repeated. She was tired, weary and wary of everyone, everything. There were those she had tried to befriend and those who she tried to trust but in the end she always bled.

This time Bug looked at her , as if hurt. “No. You can’t stay like this”.

“Go away already!”.

“No.”.

“Go away or I’ll…I’ll… I’ll bite you!”.

“…you’ll bite me?”. Bug tilted his head.

“Yes, exactly and it’ll hurt and it’ll be sharp and it won’t be pleasant at all!” Juon fumed.

Bug seemed to contemplate something.

-You heard her, she’ll bite you- Roach whispered in the back of his mind, his shadow twisting slightly.

“I know but I can’t leave her…”.

“Who are you talking to?” Juon looked around, curiosity momentarily overriding hostility.

“Roach” Bug answered matter-of-factually.

“Oh”.

A minute went by.

“Why are you still here, I said I was going to bite you!” Juon snapped. “Then bite me” Bug answered without thinking. Juon stared at him aghast, at a loss for words. And you know what? She bit him.

“Ow! You bit me??” Bug yanked his hand back. Little droplets of blood began to seep from his broken skin .

“I said I would, didn’t I?!” Juon demanded, reaching the end of her patience and worse. She bit him, and now she felt even more hungry. Why wouldn’t he just leave, she might actually eat him!

Bug sighed, nursing his hand. Then he handed her the Umbrella and jacket. “What do I do with this?” she drawled, looking between the two objects.

“Keep it”. Bug lingered for a moment before stepping back, out of protection of the Umbrella and in to the wet. He drew his hood. “Bye” and walked off.

And then she was alone with an Umbrella and a jacket and a kindness from a stranger. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, not wanting to taste the blood as if it would prove that she never bit him, which now she was sorry for doing.

What a cruel girl she could be sometimes…

“Hey…” she murmured. “Heeeeeeeeeeey!! Don’t leave me!” she took off in the direction she went, weaving through the tomb stones and the shapes in the mist until she found a strangely shaped object. Juon stopped running.

Bug was there, hood up and arms wrapped around his form as he sat beneath one of the large, crumbling Angel statues. “Hey”.

Juon looked down at him, “What are you doing here?”.

Bug gave her a half smile and an apologetic look. “Waiting for you to come running after me. Girls do that a lot”. Something in his tone made her think that he didn’t really mean anything by that. It was true. Girls did that a lot. They liked to sulk and scream and throw hissy fits posing as something strong and solid. Actually they really did like being taken care of…

Juon felt something flutter in her heart, an old, long dead emotion that she had forgotten the name of.

Stupid… “ A true gentleman is supposed to hold the Umbrella…”.
